Dipankar Dasgupta
D. Dasgupta is a contemporary Indian artist whose practice blends introspection with conceptual depth. A graduate of Kala Bhavan, Santiniketan, and a postgrad from the Faculty of Fine Arts, M.S. University, Baroda, Dasgupta's work explores metaphysical and emotional spaces through a refined visual language.
His artistic journey began with solo exhibitions in Baroda and Kolkata in the mid-90s and gained momentum with a National Award from Lalit Kala Akademi in 1998. His evocative style has since been showcased across India and abroad, including at Galerie 88, Tamarind Art in New York, and Weiling Gallery in Kuala Lumpur. Dasgupta’s work has been part of major collections, including the Victoria & Albert Museum, London, and the Government of India, reflecting his continued relevance in contemporary art discourse.
