Arun Bain is a Kolkata-based contemporary artist whose work delves into the psychological and spiritual core of human existence. A graduate in printmaking from the Faculty of Fine Arts, M.S. University, Baroda, Bain later transitioned to painting for its expressive freedom. His art often features solitary figures, symbolic ascetics, and recurring motifs like the black serpent—his metaphor for the void and primordial nothingness. Through vibrant colour and layered symbolism, Bain explores themes of solitude, inner truth, and the paradox of reality, crafting meditative canvases that merge philosophy with visual expression.
