Krishna Sharan Mahato, also known as K.S. Mahto, is a third-generation Sohrai and Khovar artist from Hazaribagh, Jharkhand. Trained in traditional mural painting by his family, he transforms ritual art into contemporary expressions on paper and canvas.

Inspired by nature, animals, and tribal symbolism, Mahato uses natural pigments to create vibrant, earthy compositions. His work has been featured in regional and national exhibitions, contributing to the preservation and evolution of Jharkhand’s indigenous visual heritage.
